What is Drop Notch?

It puts Claude Code, Codex and fourteen other agent CLIs in your Mac's notch. You type a prompt, watch the tool calls go by, approve anything that needs it and read the whole thread, without opening a terminal.

Do I need a Mac with an actual notch?

No. On a Mac without one it draws a tab the height of the menu bar, in the same spot, and everything else works the same.

macOS says the app is damaged

It isn't. Right-click the app and choose Open, then Open again. If it still refuses, run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Drop Notch.app" once.

Does any of my code leave the machine?

Drop Notch does not upload your code or transcripts to a Drop Notch server. Each agent still communicates with its own provider under that CLI's settings and policies.

Which agents does it support?

Seven, as long as you have already installed and signed into them: Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity, Cursor Agent, GitHub Copilot, Grok Build and OpenCode. Claude Code and Codex are the two with the deepest support; the rest run through their own CLI, so the permission setting maps to that CLI's approval flags rather than inline approve and deny. Drop Notch ships no keys of its own and does not need any.

Will it interrupt a session I started in a terminal?

No. It follows that session's local transcript instead of resuming it, so a second agent never lands on the same conversation. While the terminal process owns the session, Drop Notch treats it as read-only.

What permissions does it need?

None at all. The hotkey uses an older macOS API that needs no permission, so nothing is asked of you on first launch.

How do updates work?

It watches a public releases repo. A build only installs once its signature checks out against a key built into the app, so HTTPS on its own is not treated as proof.

Can I run more than one agent at once?

Yes. Each one gets its own pill. The notch shows whichever needs you first, and the expanded view lists the rest. Agents you started in other apps are counted too.

What does it cost?

Nothing for the first 500 people, and it stays free for them afterwards. After that it is a one-time purchase, never a subscription. Either way you pay for your own Claude or OpenAI usage, and the app tells you what that came to by day, model and project.
